when the purple settles
So I just finished when the purple settles by my professor, Francis Tanglao-Aguas. I honestly don't know what to think of it right now. I liked it, I know that much - genuinely (not because he's my professor). It was a whole new experience for me, reading this play, because it is stylistically so different than anything I have ever read before (not that I've read a whole lot; but in terms of scripts it is nothing like I've seen). It was hard for me to stop reading, even when people were trying to talk to me - for me, that is a telltale sign that what I'm reading is absolutely fascinating to me, to the point where I'll ignore my friends to read (as lame as that may be). I'm looking forward to the lecture tomorrow; I have no idea what's going to happen or where the lecture is going to go, but I can't wait. The play made me stop a few times and be like, "what the heck is this?", but I think that just makes me want to actually see it more. I kinda wish that it was produced at UCLA later so that I could have gone and seen it...but oh well...

And to think that I almost lectured on ROAR! I was so looking forward to it so that I overprepared in anticipation. Please ask about PURPLE tomorrow.
